Curbside Pickup Service Begins Monday, June 15, 2020
The first phase of reopening the Palermo Community Library, closed due to the COVID-
19 pandemic, is to offer curbside pickup!
For Your Safety
For your safety, all returned books, DVDs, and other materials shall be sanitized and
quarantined for 72 hours after return, per Maine State Library and Maine CDC guidelines.
Staff shall wear masks and gloves while preparing your bags.
Patrons and staff should respect the need for physical distancing and not approach one
another. If a Patron must speak to a volunteer, the Patron must wear a mask.
Procedure for Pickup
To check out library materials, please follow these steps:
1. Go to the library’s website at
to search the library catalog for the books, DVDs or other
materials you’d like to check out. (More information on how to search the database
is included below.)
2. Email your request to firstname.lastname@example.org by Wednesday for a Saturday
3. Visit the library between 10 a.m. and noon on Saturday to pick up the items you are
checking out. When you arrive at the library, please call from your car (993-6088),
and a library staff member will place your bagged order on the front sidewalk. You
may then pick it up. (If you have mobility issues, please let us know, and we can put
your books in your trunk.) Please remember to maintain social distance from library
staff and any other patrons in the parking lot while you are making your pickup.
4. Return books and other materials to the outdoor book drop when you are finished
with them. Kindles cannot go in the outside book drop and must be returned on Saturday,
10 a.m. to noon, or by appointment.
